From NY, specifically Staten Island (of all places), comes a Jazz group that classifies itself as “funk” and “Afro-beat”, but the “Jam Jazz” and “Acid Jazz” roots are definetly there.
Let me fist tell you that I listen to very little else lately. The horns are nasty and the beats are strait out of the introductory titles of a circa 1970’s action film (ala “Enter the Dragon”, “Streets of San Francisco”.
